The
plant was built in 1962
to produce 300 MTPD of urea.
It was upgraded in 1966
and in 1970 to increase
the capacity. At the
time of shut down in 2003,
the plant was producing
350 MTPD urea. The
plant is capable of producing
400+ metric tons.
Because of the lack of Carbon
dioxide, the plant was operated
at 350 tpd. The unit
includes the following sections:
- Urea
synthesis
- Crystallization,
centrifuging, and remelt
- Granulation
The
compressors and the motors
have been removed and are
in storage. The vessels
are under nitrogen purge.
The
unit is in excellent condition.
Utility
consumption during the last
year of operation is as
follows:
Annual production
106,300 tonnes
Seam (160# and 35#)
72,539,000 lbs.
Power
11705 MWH
Cooling water circulation
3,527,000,000 gallons
